Sales – Business-to-business (B2B)

BT provides IT and networked services to over 5,500 multinational companies in over 180 countries. The sales apprenticeship requires accreditations in sales together with an understanding of the technical aspects of our global Security portfolio. Sales is a core professional discipline within our business and the sales apprentice will be the customer champion and voice of BT. Customers are at the core of everything we do and delivering outstanding customer service is our number one priority. They will help customers protect their network and “crown jewel” data from internal and external threat actors. This will be achieved by understanding the customer’s threat landscape and risk profile, then using BT standard products and service to drive sales of BT security solutions from the desk.

You will gain a vast array of skills, from a technical and commercial understanding of Cyber Security portfolio. The programme combines key technical knowledge with essential sales skills with the possibility of an apprentice becoming expert in specific portfolio areas. They will work with several established global brands and partners like Palo Alto, Checkpoint and Cisco and require additional partner technical training and accreditations, through regular training sessions and technical workshops.

Sales apprentices must be highly motivated and responsive to customer needs, be able to talk confidently about simple technical solutions, analyse customer requirements, determine priorities and identify customer needs which match BT capabilities.
