Students get broadcast training
18 August 2016
Students are being given the opportunity to create content for BT Sport’s weekly TV highlights show – in association with the Vanarama National League.
And they'll conduct post-match interviews, edit match footage and upload their highlights to BT Sport.
Football clubs in the league choose students from the universities and colleges they have links with. Aged under 25, most of them are studying media and TV studies.
The students kicked off at Dagenham & Redbridge FC. First they got to grips with TV production and camera operating skills. Then they filmed Dagenham & Redbridge’s pre-season friendly against Leyton Orient.
Students will film each of the 24 Vanarama clubs’ home games for BT Sport. The students are from clubs across the UK.
Adrian Williams, BT Sports senior producer says: “It is an invaluable experience for these young people who are aiming to pursue this as a career. It gives them an invaluable foot in the door of real life broadcasting.”
