Hello and welcome to issue number two of the MyDonate newsletter for charities.

We're continuing to listen to you very carefully and we've already made a number of improvements across the service based on your feedback.

For example, you told us you wanted a better search facility on the site - and so that's what we are doing - we are improving it.

But it doesn't stop there because we're committed to making MyDonate better and better. Which is why we need, and value, your feedback. So, we'd really welcome you taking a moment to complete our latest survey and tell us what you think.

In this issue you will find a link to a short but very useful video to show you how to make the most of MyDonate's reporting tool. Click here to view the video.

Plus we have some details on one or two other services that BT provides free of charge for the benefit of charities. Who knows? You might find these services suitable for your organisation.

Best regards

New video: making the most from reporting

We've been busy making MyDonate's reporting tool even easier for charities to use. And once again - that's all down to the feedback we've received from you.

The reporting function on MyDonate is a really useful facility that enables you to track the donations given to your charity and provides you with an array of valuable information about your donations.

We know that there are a large number of charities currently using it to their benefit - and this number should, if it doesn't already, include you.

So, if you'd like to discover just how useful and easy it is to use the MyDonate reporting tool, then please watch the short video.

It also includes a message from Ranjeet Khare, Director of Fundraising at Childreach International, who explains why her charity loves this feature.

Recently, a few charities got in touch with us to highlight one or two issues they were experiencing with the MyDonate search engine.

Well, we listened to them very carefully, and, as a result, we can now announce that the search facility is in the process of being significantly improved. Some enhancements have already been made, and others will be made sometime over the Christmas and New Year period.

As a result, fundraisers and donors will be able to find you as a charity, and your events, much more easily. There is also now a flexible option to search for charities and events together.

So thank you for your feedback.

Have your fundraisers tried the MyDonate mobile app?

A new MyDonate app has been launched, which enables fundraisers to manage and promote their pages via their mobile phones or tablets.

The app - available for either Android or iPhone/iPad users - can help your fundraisers keep up to date with their fundraising activities. They can track their donations and targets and promote MyDonate fundraising pages using text, email or via Facebook and Twitter.

The MyDonate app is free to download from the iTunes store or Google Play but fundraisers who want to use it need to be registered on the MyDonate site.

Download your MyDonate email signatures now

Previously, you asked us to create a set of buttons to help with the promotion of your charity and fundraising activites and we did just that.

We'd now like to introduce another handy promotional asset to our toolbox - email signatures. A number of charities asked us for this - and we have delivered.

The email signatures make it easy for anyone you contact by email to click through and visit your MyDonate charity profile page. They can be downloaded easily from here.

Website accessibility recognised again

Last year MyDonate became the first online fundraising site to be recognised by the disability and e-accessibility charity AbilityNet for being accessible to people of all abilities - and we're delighted to announce that we've recently been re-awarded a 'User Accredited' badge.

Receiving the accreditation demonstrates that the MyDonate website delivers 'full access for everyone irrespective of their disability or the adaptive technology they use'. And it's something that we are extremely proud of.

Need a website - for free?

Charities across the UK are being offered the chance to get their hands on a free website thanks to BT.

The BT Community Web Kit is available to charities and other not-for-profit organisations and provides everything you need to set up and create your own website, with free hosting and free technical support.

Once you have a website, you can add buttons to click straight through to your MyDonate charity page. This will allow visitors to your website to make a donation or start fundraising for you.

Every penny counts at Christmas

Christmas may be the time for giving, but for many of us, it's financially, a tough time of the year.

That's why when it comes to giving to charity at Christmas - every penny really does count.

So please try to encourage your fundraisers and donors to use MyDonate for this very reason. Because MyDonate is free to use, more of the money, so kindly donated at this time of the year, goes to great causes.

And with that, we'd like to wish you all a very merry Christmas and happy New Year.

The MyDonate team

MyDonate makes sure that all of your donation (except for charges levied by the donors' own credit or debit card company) goes direct to the charity. As much as £2 can be lost in commission and charges when making a donation through other online donation platforms.
