Video: BT MyDonate helps Childreach International contribute an extra £400,000 to worldwide projects

Founded in 2004, Childreach International works with local communities to secure children’s most basic rights.

Through a range of pioneering projects and initiatives, the charity helps children in Asia, Africa, Latin America and the UK, learn in good schools, stay healthy and most importantly, keep safe.

For example, in Tanzania, more than half of all children have experienced physical violence.

Childreach Tanzania provides a safe place for them to report abuse and gives them the skills and opportunity to become Agents of Change within their own schools and communities.

Since 2011, the charity has fundraised through BT MyDonate.

Zero commission fees

“We’ve got a fantastic relationship with MyDonate,” says Tom Law, head of communications at Childreach International.

“Using MyDonate has helped us to raise more than eight and a half million pounds. There are no subscription or commission fees which means we get up to five per cent more money from donations than if we used other services.”

He adds: “MyDonate has saved us more than four hundred thousand pounds. That is the equivalent of funding over 230,000 children in rural Tanzania getting a hot lunch every day.”

Simple to use

Childreach International’s fundraisers - many of whom are students - love MyDonate too. As Childreach fundraisers Lisa Boyle and Caroline McCrystal explain in this video, not only is it simple to use they can also easily share their fundraising updates on social media.
